Julia Lajta-Novak has been curating and organising literature events, writing competitions, and translation projects for more than twelve years, in cooperation with writers and artists from countries as diverse as Trinidad, USA, UK, Ireland, Canada, Nigeria, Australia and New Zealand. Her project partners have included the British Council, the US Embassy in Austria, Culture Ireland, the Embassies of Canada and Australia in Austria, the Federal Ministry for Education, Culture and the Arts in Austria and the City of Vienna Arts Department, as well as the Austrian Commission for Unesco.
Since 2005, Julia Lajta-Novak has been director of the Vienna Lit literature society, whose aim is to increase the popularity of English language literature in Austria, with all its vitality and diversity of current literary genres. She has also been running a monthly book discussion group for more than ten years.
